Enreach at MWC 2021: 'Mobile First' Approach to Reinvent Enterprise Communications Experience

Enreach, a leading European unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider, showcased their suite of solutions at the recently concluded MWC 2021, the first MWC where the company exhibited under the Enreach label. The Fast Mode spoke to Bertrand Pourcelot, Managing Director of Enreach for Service Providers in a brief interview on his experience at the event, Enreach's 'mobile-first' showcase theme and his future outlook for the telecoms industry.


How does it feel to be back at MWC?

It feels good to physically be in the same space as our partners, customers, and colleagues: it has been a long time since many of us have been in the same room! While a virtual, hybrid world of work is here to stay - and that is something we very much embrace and seek to enable with our technology - there will always be a place for face-to-face contact.

While it was a quieter event than usual (for obvious reasons), it still provided an opportunity to have some meaningful conversations with our ecosystem, particularly our service provider partners who are experiencing a time of both challenges and opportunities.


What’s your showcase theme this year, and what are the key technologies you will be exhibiting/discussing?

2021 was a landmark year for us at MWC because it was the first time we exhibited as Enreach, the European leader in Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS). Our focus was our ‘mobile first’ solution set, delivered from our own multi-tenant UCaaS platform, which enables our partners to offer a wide range of communication and collaboration solutions that are fully optimised for mobile. What that means in practice is that all the functionality to be found in office-based systems works seamlessly in mobile environments, so users have the same consistent experience regardless of location, network or device.

As one of the original pioneers of ‘mobile first’ unified communications, we have long believed that mobility needs to be at the centre of business collaboration and communications and not viewed as an add-on. That view has been validated in the past year, as businesses had to get their workforces operating remotely rapidly. The use of smartphones for all kinds of work activities has escalated. There is a massive opportunity for the channel, including MVNOs, to help businesses in Europe integrate mobility more effectively into how their employees communicate and collaborate internally and externally. 

Our Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) router enables service providers to offer converged services and help them to become MVNOs. It has never been so easy for more organisations to become mobile-focused service providers without investing in their own development. 

Our solutions, such as our mobile app MOBiiS, can be white-labelled branded by our partners.


What’s your outlook for telecoms for the rest of 2021?

We have witnessed three key trends in the past year: the acceleration of cloud, collaboration and digital transformation. Those three will continue to dominate, not just this year but into 2022. Businesses are planning for the longer-term, beyond the quick fixes that helped them survive the past eighteen months. Digital transformation is no longer something they thought they would get around to dealing with one day in the future: they have to address it now, and telecommunications are the foundation of successful digital transformation. This industry has a huge opportunity to help those businesses. While recent times have been challenging for everyone, this is an exciting time to be part of the mobile industry.
