Reber
Back to overview

The family business Reber from Bad Reichenhall is one of Germany’s best-known premium chocolate manufacturers and exports its products to more than 50 countries. Chocolate lovers all over the world appreciate Reber’s fine confectionery, especially the genuine “Reber Mozart-Kugel”, which is produced around 500,000 times a day.

To ensure this success, the company invests millions in the future and in innovations – for production, storage and since 2023, also in the innovative Swyx IP communications solution by Enreach.

THE CHALLENGE

Reber is a long-standing company with several locations – from the 9,000 square metre production site and central warehouse in Marzoll, Germany, to the confectionery shops and the Café Reber coffeehouse in Bad Reichenhall, Germany.

The task was to implement a future-proof cloud solution for communication and collaboration that would enable work from any location and answer the various requirements of the chocolate manufacturer. These include integration with Microsoft Teams and the company's CRM/ERP system as well as a professional contact centre. In addition, Reber wanted to make sure that the IT security would meet latest requirements.

The strategy

Tradition meets innovation. Reber opted for a unified communications solution from the private cloud. Employees now work with state-of-the-art UCC softphones, headsets and hot-desking terminals and can collaborate from anywhere.

From consulting to implementation, Munich-based Telenova GmbH, a long-standing Enreach partner, is supporting Reber’s digital transformation and guiding the company smoothly into the world of digital communications.

The solution

The Swyx Unified Communications and Collaboration solution by Enreach meets all of Reber’s requirements. Modern workstations with softphones, intelligent call routing with reporting, fixed line connection via the Telenova SIP trunk and Microsoft Teams integration including user presence synchronisation – all in one system.

The future-proof solution offers flexible extension options and always remains up to date due to regular updates. Centralised control and the firewall ensure a high level of security.

The solution also makes a significant contribution to sustainability at Reber. Thanks to the software-based cloud communications solution, the required hardware could be reduced considerably: servers and additional network components on premises are no longer needed and the number of telephones has been reduced. This leads to significant energy savings, lower electricity costs and emissions.

“With the Swyx solution, we have optimized our processes and save a lot of energy. This allows us to reduce our CO2 emissions by 4,923 kg per year”, said Bernd Urban, IT team lead at Paul Reber GmbH & Co. KG.

About Paul Reber GmbH & Co. KG

In 1865, master confectioner Peter Reber opened the first Reber confectionery café in Munich, Germany, and soon made a name for himself. In 1938, the Reber family moved their company to the centre of Bad Reichenhall, the site of the current headquarters. Much has changed since the company was founded, but it has remained family-owned for more than 5 generations and is now the German market leader for the genuine “Reber Mozart-Kugel”, a worldwide success story.
